Foundation Practice Communities
Community Foundations
Community foundations frequently are place-based impact investors, looking for investments in their community. They are often motivated by the desire to do more than their grant budgets allow, by stakeholder interest in impact investing, and the opportunity to leverage other assets for their community.
Place-Based Impact Investing Collaboratives
A growing number of regions host collaboratives to support the development of place-based impact investment ecosystems connecting investors, financing intermediaries, foundations, institutions and philanthropic individuals to help more catalytic capital find impact.
Invest New England
Invest New England seeks to catalyze philanthropic place-based impact investing through webinars, learning cohorts, and network building. Participants come from foundations and philanthropic individuals in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
